My wife and I have purchased electronic Panasonic products with satisfaction for more than 30 years, so we decided to give this meat grinder a try. Extremely satisfied, with first use to make ham salad (something not available commercially here, alas, any more, after the demise of Honey B on Texas Ave a couple of years ago). (Anyone reading this remenber the ham salad sandwiches at Reeves on F, then G, street in DC? Well I do, and have tried to duplicate them with this machine.) My! In any event, this is a solid, well-built, quiet (like a blender or food-processor) machine, that, properly assembled (cutter blade toward front, not back!!), will produce a great grind. For our ham salad we used the medium cutter disk, though if you want a coaser grind you can use the coarse disk. Perfection. Does not grind onions well (mush), however. Carbon steel parts (blade, disks, parts of the impeller)are NOT stainless and will require proper storage (use food-grade mineral oil available at your local pharmacy or cooking oil -- olive, peanut, etc. to coat, then store).
